Would be expected to carry out all aspects of the test lifecycle. This includes:
• Hands on experience developing and implementing a performance test strategy and processes and presenting this to key stakeholders.
• Performance /Load testing of the online applications ensuring that it can cope with the expected user load and throughput.
• Experience in gathering performance and latency metrics across the application stack (client browser to the back-end database).
• Maintaining detailed metrics on performance over time and ensuring no degradation in future releases.
• Compatibility /Performance testing of the online applications on multiple sites, multiple client desktop
configurations (OS, browser, plug-ins and languages).
• Providing best practice guidance on performance and automated test case design and data set design.
• Using the logs, database etc., perform comprehensive analysis of any error to assist in working out the issue prior to recording in the defect tracking tool.
• Experience of navigating around multi-tiered application stacks to identify and isolate the performance
bottleneck.
• Work closely with developers to define and build proprietary performance test tools which offer the ability to apply load to the application under test. This includes replaying market data, orders, trades etc from a production environment.
• Complex integration testing with multiple systems and teams around the globe.
• Produce test reports and metrics which are geared towards their intended audience.
• Work with development and infrastructure to produce capacity plans for the next 12-24 months.
• Work with development and infrastructure to build and maintain a physical end to end performance test
environment which is 100% isolated from production.
• Reproduce performance related issues from production in performance test lab.
• Work with architects, developers and DBAs to improve performance of the current platform.
Quality
• Maintaining testing standards and ensure that they adhered to, as well as proactively trying to add to these standards whenever possible.
Requirements:
• Excellent testing experience of the full testing lifecycle from unit testing to user acceptance testing
• In-depth understanding and knowledge of Performance Test Methodologies
• Proven experience performance testing complex, real-time end to end applications
• Advanced knowledge of at least one of the following: LoadRunner (VUGen), JMeter, Gomez, SiteScope etc
• Experience creating and maintaining test data for load tests (including sanitising data as appropriate).
• Working knowledge of SQL and RMDS databases.
• Ability to navigate around Unix /Linux environments.
• Ability to analyse and report performance test results and to maintain detailed metrics and trends of performance over time.
• Strong communication skills
• Strong problem solving skills
